The object of the paper is the use of adjectives in English and Chinese languages, while the subject is its thorough comparative analysis.
    The aim of the work is to present a viable comparison between the use of adjectives in Chinese and English languages, on the base of literature classics “The Hobbit” by J.R.R. Tolkien and “Red Sorghum: A Novel of China” by Mo Yan.
    The main objectives of the paper can be reorganized in the following sequence:
•    To analyze the history and the development process of both grammar and adjectives in English and Chinese languages,
•    To single out and present the system of adjectives in each language,
•    To compare the use of adjectives in both languages based on the information derived from the analysis above,
•    To present the literature classics, chosen to act a supply for examples, for further research of the topic,
•    To show, on the extracts form the novels, the use of adjectives in both languages,
•    To compare, using the extracts from the classics, the use of adjectives in English and Chinese.
