Ultimately, monetary resources were proven to be crucial to the success since they allow to participate in numerous competitions, learn from the experience and benefit from top-notch coaching that is not available to talented but underprivileged athletes. In general, although the use of financial investments allows teams and athletes to achieve sporting success, the excessive use of money in sports contributes to the decline in the competitive balance and the persistence of wealth inequality. Nevertheless, the problem of an uncontrolled influence of money on athletic performance does not limit to the issues discussed in this essay. Further research into the problem should focus on the development of regulations of external investments in sports which would attempt to stop the increasing loss of the competitiveness. Moreover, subsequent academic studies could provide policymakers with the suggestions on the provision of access to high-level coaching for youngsters from low-income families.
