The goal of the work is to establish the linguistic and cultural features of the concepts «success» and «failure» in the phraseological picture of the world of English and German languages on the example of fiction.
The tasks are of the work:
-    to consider approaches to defining the concept of the world picture in Russian and foreign linguistics;
-    to characterize the language picture of the world as a component of linguoculturology;
-    to identify approaches to defining the phraseological picture of the world;
-    to describe the concept as a component of the world picture;
-    to analyze the concept of "success" based on thesaurus data;
-    to analyze the structure of the concept "success" based on fiction;
-    to analyze the concept of "failure" based on thesaurus data;
-    to analyze the structure of the concept of "failure" based on fiction.
    The object of the work is conceptual picture of English and German fiction that nominate the concepts of «success» and «failure».
